City of Hope
This year I am a panelist at the Western Regional Planned Giving Conference. It has a well-deserved reputation as one of the most stimulating and worthwhile educational and networking opportunities for gift planning professionals in the nation. This year’s conference will live up to its reputation as a fantastic group of speakers will provoke us to “Make the Right Moves” in planned giving. Three tracks provide one with opportunities to “Know the Basics” by focusing on gift planning fundamentals, “Know the Donors” through understanding the relational aspects of planned giving, and “Know the Pitfalls” with expert advice concerning the key technical issues facing planned giving today.

UCLA Radiation Oncology - Prostate Cancer
Perhaps one of the greatest areas of health concerns for men over the
age of 45 is their prostate. Prostate cancer is the number one cancer among
American males, with about one out of four or one out of five expected to be
affected. Breast cancer, by comparison, affects one out of eight women. I have long been committed to doing my part to increase awareness about
this terrible disease. This past April I underwrote a major PSA (Prostate
Specific Antigen Test) screening event on the UCLA campus. A big success, it
followed an informative Prostate Cancer Awareness & Treatment Options
seminar moderated by Dr. Steven Lee of the Radiation Oncology Staff at UCLA
Medical Center.
